About SureCalcs
SureCalcs is an independent website that builds free financial calculators for people in the United States. We started with 24 calculators for common money questions — mortgages, loans, taxes, pay, retirement and investing — and we are adding more.
Who’s behind SureCalcs
SureCalcs was founded by León Allende, who builds and maintains every calculator on the site. León researches the formulas and rules behind each tool, checks the figures against official sources such as the IRS, the Social Security Administration, the Bureau of Labor Statistics and state revenue departments, and keeps the data up to date as those figures change. What we believe a calculator should do
- Answer the question immediately. The calculator is the first thing on every page, and results update as you type.
- Show its work. Every page explains the formula, walks through an example and lists its assumptions.
- Use official data. Tax brackets, contribution limits and inflation data come from primary sources such as the IRS, the Social Security Administration and the Bureau of Labor Statistics, and we cite them on each page.
- Respect your privacy. Calculations run in your browser. We don’t ask you to sign up or collect the numbers you type.
- Work everywhere. Pages are lightweight, load quickly on phones and are built to be accessible.
How we check our numbers
Each calculator’s math is covered by automated tests that compare results with independently verified reference values, and every page is reviewed against primary sources before it is published. Tax and limit data are reviewed at least once a year when new figures are released. Read our methodology and editorial policy for details.
How SureCalcs is funded
The site is free to use and is supported by advertising. Advertisers have no influence over our calculators or content, and ads are always labeled and kept separate from results.
